Yvette A. Wallace
Yvette A. Wallace is an attorney-at-law with over 30 years of experience in corporate transactions, regulatory and compliance work, business and company formation, labour and industrial practices. She has a first degree in Public Administration and obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies in 1990. Yvette received the Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School, Jamaica, in 1992. She was admitted to the Bar in Jamaica in that same year and was subsequently admitted to the bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the Anguilla and St. Kitts & Nevis circuits in 1996 and 2004 respectively. Yvette is as an Arbitrator, trained and certified by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Born and raised in the island of Jamaica, Yvette came to Anguilla in 1996 and joined a leading Anguilla law firm as an associate, working her way up in her career from associate lawyer to equity partner in 4 years. In 2018 she co-launched SAGIS LP, a full service law practice where she is currently a Partner.
Yvette has also served on a number of occasions as High Court Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. She has spoken at regional conferences and seminars on a number of legal topics in recent years.
Prior to commencing practice in Anguilla, Yvette worked at the private bar in Jamaica from 1992 to 1996 in a broad spectrum of practice areas. She also lectured the Business Law and Company Law courses at the University of Technology – Jamaica for 6 years.
Yvette has held various positions on the Council of the Anguilla Bar Association including President for 5 consecutive years (2010 – 2015) and is current First Vice-President of the OECS Bar Association, having served as a member of the Executive of that organisation since 2010. She is a member of the Board of the Financial Services Commission (Anguilla) and is also a Notary Public.
