Loretta Damien
Loretta Damien graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Papua New Guinea in 2022. In early 2023, she completed her post-graduate legal training at the PNG Legal Training Institute and was admitted to practise at the National and Supreme Courts of Papua New Guinea.
She is employed by Leahy Lewin Lowing Sullivan Lawyers (LLLS) and practises primarily in commercial litigation.
Loretta assists the Partners and Associates of LLLS in advising on various topics such as basic court process/procedures under the PNG National Court Rules, negligence, registration of Incorporated Land Groups and customary land, insurance law, registration of foreign judgements, dissolution of marriage, judicial review, property lien and the tax appeal process under the PNG Income Tax Act.
She regularly appears at the National Court for proceedings related to breach of contract, liquidation, debt recovery, negligence, applications under the PNG Companies Act 1997 and taxation of legal costs at the National Court Registry. She also has experience in appeal and review proceedings in the Supreme Court.
She is a member of the Law Society of Papua New Guinea.
